Hi Giovanni,
Your plugin can decide what level of RB it requires, but the
difference from Standard to Professional only affects the built-in
functionality of the REALbasic environment, not what functionality is
provided by plugins. If your plugin manages its connections, the
version of RB doesn't matter.

Tim

Sorry Tom, I know that, we are starting to port our ActiveX to RB
so part of that is to move our ActiveX to a Plugin.
So my question is, my plugin will attatch to other databases so
does RB Standard Block that and does it limit any TCPIP/UDP
communications or should we have the PRO version for Mac to be able
to accurately test.

I'm not sure if a standard license limits use of RB's database
framework or not. I know you can use recordset classes etc for
local REALdatabase files, so I fail to see why you couldn't create
a multiuser database plugin that wouldn't work with the standard
version.
You realise that you can't make plugins using REALbasic though I
assume???

Hello yall,
To create Plugins do we need to have pro? or will Standard be ok?
Our plugin will use TCPIP and Database access.
What say you?
Thanks,
Giovanni
