Meh. I've found that it's nearly impossible to roll out a production Postgres server on OS X anyway. Throw it on top of an Ubuntu install and things get waaaaay easier on the tweakage side of things. I learned that lesson the hard way. I do have Postgres installed on my laptop, but since it doesn't need to handle much of a load, the generic config from entropy.ch works just dandy. Truth be told, I find mySQL much more difficult to setup and configure. This is, I'm sure, due in large part to the fact that I started with PostgreSQL, but I guess it's all just a question of what you're used to.
