How about getting the Forums into the condition that would convince all of us that this is the right move and THEN stop the mail lists?
Well, 'cause the forums won't get used until the lists are shut down. Or so goes the belief.
Now, by way of "rolling with the punches" – what about the possibility of integrating the forums directly into the RB IDE or the language reference window? Might that make them more practical to use? Particularly if RB had a way to indicate new messages relating to watched topics, etc. directly in its own interface. Maybe even offer to search the forums based on selected text, etc. and display the results directly in the IDE without switching to a separate application... just a thought.
