Interesting.  It's always worked fine for me... in fact I've got an app
running right now with five of them, each running an indefinitely long
process, the output of which is grabbed (via DataAvailable) and stuffed
into five different EditFields.  I run this on both Intel and PPC Macs,
and have never had a problem.

Sounds like it will take some digging to figure out why it works for me
(and some others) but not for you (and some others).  I suppose we
should start with a simple example that uses some tool we should all
have installed... 'top' perhaps?
