I have come across this frequently lately. I have a project that uses many internal items and many external items.
I will edit one of the external items, and save the Project. I will close the Project, then open it again, and find that the external object was never saved. I never have two Projects running simultaneously. After this wasted my time a couple times, I checked and caught it not saving it. I then tried using the Save External Item function, and not only could I see that the file wasn't being updated (by the time on the file), I closed and opened and it STILL didn't update. The files are OK permission wise, they can be written to. I went on the BugDB and noticed this was a bug a long time ago, but it was fixed. It doesn't look like it was fixed, or perhaps it reappeared. If this is a problem, this is incredible - this could possibly incredibly waste someones time. Not only that, it jeopardizes the ability to maintain an external framework which multiple projects can access. Why does RB seems to release versions that have incredible showstopper bugs, and seem to wait item 3 months for a new build? Seems that any release that has showstoppers on it should be fixed immediately as a maintenance update (with no new features). Why isn't this the case? RB should be a mature product, and it is, but all these deathtraps make me uncomfortable. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * | Garth Hjelte | | Customer Service Representative, President | | Chicken Systems, Inc, Rubber Chicken Software Co. | | 714 5th Street SE | | Willmar, MN 56201 USA | | | | 800-8-PRO-EPS Toll Free Order Line (US Only) | | 320-235-9798 Tech Support, Sampler Questions | | International Line | | 360-838-7689 Fax | | Product Sales: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | | Product Support: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | | Sampler Q+A: [EMAIL PROTECTED] | | Web Page: www.chickensys.com | * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * _______________________________________________ Unsubscribe or switch delivery mode: <http://www.realsoftware.com/support/listmanager/> Search the archives: <http://support.realsoftware.com/listarchives/lists.html>
