With all due respect, I think we should bug the folks at RS to restore the project source export capability that was built into all versions (as far as I remember) prior to the 200X series. It allows one to create a single humanly-readable file (as opposed to the XML output, even cleaned up with the XML cleaner). Such a source file can be easily compared with another project file's source in TextWrangler and I'm sure in FileMerge as well. You can copy and paste the code directly into methods in the code editor which can be handy for a quick update. The version control output is more easily readable than the XML output, but in a largish project can produce hundreds of separate files. Unless you know exactly where to look for changes (and if I did, most of the time I wouldn't need to compare project source) it seems to me comparing all those files would be incredibly laborious. If you'd like to encourage RS to further consider restoring the source output feature, you can join the couple of dozen folks who have added their voice to this feature request: <http://support.realsoftware.com/feedback/viewreport.php?reportid=gavakxgp> In the meantime, I would suggest that the original poster open his/her projects in RB 5.5.5, export the source, and use the Compare files feature in TextWrangler or FileMerge. _______________________________________________ Unsubscribe or switch delivery mode: <http://www.realsoftware.com/support/listmanager/> Search the archives: <http://support.realsoftware.com/listarchives/lists.html>
