Hey, they have great drinks and lovely food in Austin as well. Last  
year, after the conference was over and I was the only one left  
there, I got in touch with a few friendly Americans. They invited me  
for dinner to some luxury Mexican restaurant. One of the guys had  
been to Belgium and actually remembered many of the Belgium beers.  
Especially Hoegaarden.

Shortly after I got back home I read an article about Pierre Celis,  
the founder of Hoegaarden. He started a new brewery in Austin to  
introduce white beer to the Americans. The brewery was later acquired  
by Miller, but closed due to lack of success. Later on the brand name  
was sold to Michigan Brewing. The beer is now known as Celis White  
beer. Next time I get there I'll have to ask around where it is served.

Just a funny anecdote :-)
