In rewriting some software, I've a choice. Use binary files for
files associated with program (as I have been) or use RealDatabases
for said files.

I've never used RealDatabases for this purpose, but it seems they'd
be handy (e.g. built into structure are quick search of records and
quick file edits). Not sure if there's any down side to such a
switch (e.g. file size, speed of loading, stability, future database
modification by RealSoftware, and see note below) and am wonder if
anyone else uses RealDatabases for such purpose. Note: the files
need an icon associated with it's program (to be recognized by user)
and when clicked they should open in said program.
