Yes, I imagine it might be a good fit for your pro-audio business Garth. Like you say - there is a question concerning the GUI "look" - very "Live" like in many ways. I suspect ableton put together a similar internal framework for that DAW too.
One precondition on collaborating on a JUCE plugin as far as I am concerned would be that someone ( other than me ) puts together a web site to house all the audio related work - plugin, source, example projects etc as well as managing the project on SourceForge ( or the like ). I am happy to put some initial effort into the plugin but don't want to manage any web site, version control and the like. On another note, as a test harness for my current C++ VST/AU plugin work I have just about finished putting together a basic VST plugin host in REALbasic. Want to buy access to my RB source code ? ( theres a tiny bit of C++ in a DLL which I could easily move into a RB plugin ) Finally - when oh when are you going to answer my questions about reading Apple Loops ?? ;0 On 2/5/07 16:18, "Rubber Chicken Software Co." <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > At 06:20 AM 5/2/2007, you wrote: > >> 1) JUCE is an open source C++ App framework available for Win, OSX and >> Linux. >> >> http://www.rawmaterialsoftware.com/juce/ >> >> 2) Using JUCE as a framework instead of the RB framework opens up the >> possibility of moving code to C++ later if for any reason necessary ( using >> my tool Squirt ;) ) >> >> 3) JUCE has some sexy stuff for audio programmers ( JUCE was used to write >> the DAW "Tracktion" ) >> >> 4) having access to ALL the framework and plugin source means anyone can fix >> those bugs without waiting for RS. >> >> 5) Everyone can add their own cool open source stuff to the framework and >> have it refined by others in the community. >> >> These are just idle musings before starting work for the day, >> >> Thoughts anyone ?? :) > > 100% onboard!
