Hehe, People are just asking questions, I don't think they expected that someone would actualy step up and ask specs. I also don't think they expected anyone to come up with a solution. As far as I can see the complaint is just that RS doesn't provide the functionality needed. My personal take is that they don't need to, REALbasic just needs to enable us to program that functionality ourselves if we need it. To be quite honest, I don't even understand the complaint. If people want to display the data contained within a database in some sort of Excel sheet, with all the functionality that Excel provides, then why not just use Excel to display the data? We get feature requests like that from our customers too, and it always makes me wonder why they want something to be just like something they allready use. Seems to me like they are unhappy with what for instance excel offers them, so they want something programmed, but then it needs to work as much as possible as what they allready know (excel) and it needs to do everything in a similar way to what they are allready used to, but it of course needs to do the added functionality that they want and that excel didn't have. I don't know how this works, but I fear that only with 24 hours in a day, I do not have the time to program a complete excel replacement (and I'd need to be hiding from Microsoft's legal team), and then add the functionality the customer needs. I also wonder if I actually did manage to program an excel replacement (let's say it took a year for our company to program a basic excel functionality replacement) how the customer would expect to be charged (I'm not going to count the manhour cost for something like this, but I'm pretty sure it would be a lot higher than what they would be willing to pay). Just my two cents, Dirk Cleenwerck Chief Programmer Useitgroup NV _______________________________________________ Unsubscribe or switch delivery mode: <http://www.realsoftware.com/support/listmanager/> Search the archives: <http://support.realsoftware.com/listarchives/lists.html>
