Not sure how you'd deal with it in any case in any other set up.

Indeed the listbox could use a rework.
A faceless "grid" that we could put anything (and I do mean anything)  
into and have it scroll, etc would be great.
The old list manager on the Mac can be this way (but often wasn't).

But even these generic frameworks did not do all the fancy stuff that  
people are talking about (freezing rows and columns etc).

I do think a lot of people would like "something like Excels grid"  
without the spreadsheet formulas, etc but that is still a very large  
body of work in any language.
