Windows plug-in dev - CRT (C++ runtime DLL) link problem in VStudio 2008 and Vista 64-bit (Dinesh K) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Message: 1 Date: Tue, 10 May 2011 19:53:45 +0100 From: "Dinesh K" <[email protected]> Subject: Windows plug-in dev - CRT (C++ runtime DLL) link problem in VStudio 2008 and Vista 64-bit To: <[email protected]> Message-ID: <004001cc0f43$98361b50$c8a251f0$@com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Hi, I'm forwarding this message to you guys, based on recommendation by your (web-based) tech support team. PLEASE HELP me sort this Systems Integration issue out, as my development is currently on hold and I've spent about 25 hours on this issue already :((( I've been in touch with Microsoft, the developers of ASDCP, and your own forum on Real Studio Plugins - to NO avail :((( =================== Hi, Thanks for getting back to me. I'm struggling over here for days on end, trying to develop a plug-in that utilises the C & C++ Standard Libraries(or the Microsoft versions of them - called MSVCP90.dll and MSVCR90.dll. The context is this. I have a RealStudio plug-in for Windows - that needs developed. I need to include in that plug-in, an open source library called ASDCP. ASDCP is based on PURE ANSI C++. So when it's built under Windows/Win32, it inevitably utilises the MS-vCRT libraries. 1) My problem is.. When I static link them, build the plug-in and load up RealStudio, it's crashing with a memory leak error. 2) When I dynamically link them(/MT in Visual Studio) and then load up the plug-in , RealStudio is coming up with a message saying unable to Load MSVCP90.dll - and yet, I've embedded the manifest for my DLL in to the binary , as recommended by Visual Studio and the assembly exists in my Assembly cache. and yet RealStudio can't seem to find it! I've spent nearly 5 days trying to sort this problem out :( and I'm only being paid for about 2 days worth of to work - in TOTAL. My development work is currently on hold, because of DLL linking issue. Any help would be much appreciated. I've been working in large corporation doing C++ work and yet, this freelance job of mine is costing me more in energy and time, than any other job over the past 15 years! I look forward to some positive response. I could be your next potential RealStudio evangelist!
