We have a program that monitors the port on the server and looks for the ip
address of the specific encoder/encoders that we wish to monitor. If that goes
away we then send and email and a page to the appropriate party.
I also have used and use the silence sensor but it is only efective on the
input feed for the auido it is available for about $40.00 and will close a
relay when the 600 ohm audio feed does not show signal variation for a preset
period of time.
