Yes.  Read the documentation for rmevents in the RealProducer.

No.  This is not a supported feature.

I find it to be pretty stable, but it depends on which player version you
have and what exactly you're doing.  Embedding in a web browser certainly
isn't a death sentence for your presentation though.  Try it out and report
any bugs you come across.
