Several people have expressed interest in seeing how closed captions can be
implemented in SMIL.
Our research group from the NSF-funded "Bridging Research and Practice"
project has prepared a simple example modelled after the Broadcast example
from the Real Networks website.
If you would like to see our example and can receive it (12 MB) over email,
mention it to

and he'll send it out to you.
If your email cannot handle attachments this large, we have a liimited
number of CD-Roms which should run on either a Mac or PC-windows platform.
