I saved about $1700 apiece by going with the Canon GL-1 versus the XL-1.
The XL-1 wins has the higher coolness factor, but a lot of the other
capabilities are similar. The GL-1 does not have an interchangeable lens,
though.
The GL-1 is a 3CCD with Flourite lens coating, has the spotlight and other
settings, and has good audio.
With the web as the target, I have been happy with the GL-1's.
