DESCRIPTION:
     Open the socket connection and confirm server response.
     OPEN-PROTO is a function value.

ARGUMENTS:
     port -- Initalized port spec (Type: any)

REFINEMENTS:
     /locals
         sub-port -- (Type: any)
         data -- (Type: any)
         in-bypass -- (Type: any)
         find-bypass -- (Type: any)
         bp -- (Type: any)
