It is coming but the wait is excruciating.

Yesterday, I was rushing to get View running on something and here is =20=

a summary of my experience:

- My Cube refuses to boot with a Mac OS 9.1 disk since I have an =20
upgraded processor. No way to install Classic without booting and =20
installing a valid Mac OS 9 system. Anyway, my last experience with =20
Rebol on Mac OS 8 wasn't great, due to limitations of that environment.

- UAE is very slow, even when using the JIT version on a 1.2 Ghz =20
processor with lot of cache. There is a network problem too: View =20
can't connect via the emulated bsdsocket while other applications can.

- Qemu is even slower and I have no space left to host a 2-8 Go image =20=

of a Linux environment.

- In last resort, I was ready to partition my disk in order to =20
install Debian, but the installer refuses keyboard input and I didn't =20=

go further than the "select your language" screen. It seems that new =20
input device layer in the kernel doesn't work on some PowerMac.

Now, I am a bit embarrassed as I need to write some demos for a cross-=20=

platform application and I keep promising that View is a efficient =20
tool for this kind of purpose.

Any idea of a release date? Any progress since that report [1]?
