That capability was added in View 1.3 -- before that, any info? on a URL 
*would* download the whole file just so you could get the length.....That was 
even 
more annoying (I know, cos I once tried info on multi-meg urls)

But, as Gabriele says, it doesn't seem to work with Apache and CGIs -- I 
suppose Apache would have to run the CGI, capture the output to get the size, 
and 
then return that value.

If your investigation turns up a way to do that, please let me know,
