About QUERY: I don't believe that's quite true. I just tried this on
just about every beta version between View 1.2.1.3.1 and 1.3.1.3.1
and it takes one second on my dialup connection:

I think the only difference is that QUERY opened the port with a GET
command instead of HEAD.

Wasn't it local files which had that "cache it all" issue ?

I'll let you know when/if I find anything on Apache.
