my taco salad
1 lb. ground beef cooked & drained
1 head lettuce, tear up into small pieces
1 bag shredded cheddar cheese
1 chopped bell pepper
2 chopped tomatoes
1 taco kit
1 carton sour cream
1 can kidney beans
minced onion

Brown meat drain, let cool.
in a large bowl break up the taco shells, that come in the kit
add remaining ingredients, except taco sauce, seasoning& sour cream.
in another bowl combine the taco sauce packet, the seasoning & sour cream,
mix well
then mix with the first bowl.
note the taco kit comes with taco shells,taco sauce, and taco seasoning.
this makes alot

SIZZLIN' SOUTHWEST TACO SALAD
8 ounces lean ground beef or turkey
12-ounce package frozen potato and cheddar mini- pierogies (we used Mrs. T's)
1.25-ounce packet taco seasoning
10-ounce package salad greens, such as iceberg and romaine, mixed
1 cup shredded Jack cheese
1 cup prepared salsa
Optional: 1 avocado, diced

Put beef or turkey in a large, nonstick skillet over medium heat.
Cook, breaking meat into small pieces with a plastic or wooden spoon,
until it loses its
pink color, about 3 minutes.

Add frozen mini-pierogies; cook and stir until partially thawed, about
5 minutes. Stir in taco seasoning and 3/4 cup water. Cook, stirring
occasionally,
until pierogies are hot and flavors well-blended, about 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, place salad greens on 4 dinner plates, dividing equally.
Top with pierogi/meat mixture, salsa, cheese and avocado. Serves 4.

Taco Salad
1 lb. lean ground beef, fried and cooled
1 head of lettuce, broken in pieces
2 diced tomatoes
1 diced onion
1 can drained light red kidney beans
1/2 to 1 lb grated cheddar cheese

PREPARATION:
Mix all together in a large bowl. Stir in 1 large bottle of Western
Dressing. Chill and when ready to serve add 1 bag or crumbled Doritos
or corn chips.
