Bonner funeral on Friday

A state funeral for former Aboriginal politician Neville Bonner
will be held in St Stephen's Presbyterian Church, Ipswich, on Friday, a
     family spokesman said today.

Mr Bonner, 76, died last week after a long battle with lung cancer
and Prime Minister John Howard said a state funeral would be held.

The family spokesman said Mr Howard, Governor-General Sir William
Deane, Queensland Premier Peter Beattie and other dignitaries
had signified their intention to attend. Flags on Queensland
government buildings were being flown at half-mast today. - AAP
