Dear Trudy and Auschaps,

Please read.;-) .. and pass this around?

It's official. DC called yesterday, and our contacts in US Admin
N Africa, all say "yes"... That's serious "clearance"..

The SWP International are to support this call, Demos outside
(or inside ? ;-) Aus High Commissions all over the world in
support of BURMA OUT..

It will have a special website out of NY..

However yopu wil see that the NAus campaign is Not being
"left behind" at all.

But, given the official if somewhat covertly so, support Mihra
has received over the last 48 hrs or so, world interest Has To
Focus upon Burma OUT...

Here is an example of a mail out to the USA activistas.
:
""Listen : The Olympic campaign is still a "triple header".

What one would do if one were in your position both to
help with the campaign and pubicize illtreatment in US
prisons is to climb on board the Burma Out campaign.
(Got an Aus HC in your hood?) And work closer with the
NAus campaigners who are also part of this and who protest
about deaths and ill treatment of NAus prisoners in custody....

There is scope for all under the Burma Out banner"""

-------------------------------------------------

And a happy 1999, to you too

DEMOS across the world.
Aussie High Commissions targeted

S African Govt

xxxxxx,

Sometimes I get "lucky"?

You want to pass this missive to Steve Tshwete? Copied similar
to Tony Bank's office, TBlair, Robin Cook, and Chairman, Craig
Reedie of the UK Olympic Committee.

And soon the BBC could begin to ask Burma / more Olympic
ethic questions?

It's not that Burma is much different from a number of nations.
(Inc, the US) but with Indo going outa the picture and the
Na Aus situation just beginning to clarify, at least for me.
This is what (we feel) may be a reasonable policy? It's also
"the geography" of the situation.

I do assure you that our contacts in the US admin are worthy
of your support.

And indicatively, DC where the US admin, Its (africa
desk) still remembers our assistful intervention b4 Atlanta 96
called today and they will take whatever we have and "pass it
around" on the Hill.

Sydney 2000 : Burma Out? The state of play?
.

The Indonesian linkage may soon end and then we will adapt
signatures to suit.. and concentrate upon Burma

1999? Its all fun fun fun!!

The Rt Hon Tony Blair

Prime Minister,

We think this missive to Kofi is also "in your lane" so to speak.

Although this is still seemingly a "triple header" protest.

Native Aus, Indonesia, the third is the most important to

develop

ALL OVER THE WORLD

Demonstrations to go ahead. Australian High Commissions to

fight the will of the people?

Today : The Burma Groups and the Socialist Worker's Party

International Committee confirmed that the Mihra call for

an exclusion of Burma from Olympic 2000 is official policy.

And now all there is a need to do is to set a date / dates,

and lotsa demo places.

Help Boycott Sydney 2000., Burma OUT..

finally : (From a friendly member of staff, and knowing of why
we were asking, we managed to "discover" when the UK High
Commission woud be "at home". and are looking a provisional
first demo date of May 14, friday... However, as the City Group
proved outside S African HC through the struggle against
apartheid, as permanent a picket as poss, would be best of all.)

Mihra looks forward to receiving feed back from your groups
on this and as to whether they are going to support , as in live
bodies on a picket line, this call. For I believe and also a number
of other experienced parliamentarians / activists, the NAus
campaign can "ride on the back of Burma"..

Mihra was founded during UN50 to advance and protect
creators rights in a cultural market monopolised by the
recording / publishing Grand Cartel. Mihra's roots are in
music and anti-racism and it has called for a sports boycott
of both Indonesia and Burma for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
