Dear Everyone,

My name is TOGUCHI Sunao from OKINAWA, Japan doing a Master of
Journalism Course at the University of Wollongong. I was born in
OKINAWA in 1966 and educated until high school then went to university
  in Tokyo.  The following is my brief history;

-Work as a Teacher of Japanese, Hastings Boys' High School New
  Zealand, Jan1996-June 00
-Diploma of Teaching, Palmerston North College of Education New
  Zealand, 1995
-Work as an editor of Old Japanese Dictionaries, Nihon IR Ltd Tokyo,
  1990-1993
-Bachelor of Arts(British and American Studies), Musashi University
  Tokyo, 1985-1989

I am looking for some people who are able to talk about their history
with focus, if you can, on the Stolen Generation.

  WHY:
Since my arrival in July it has come to my attention from media
reports that Aboriginal people were stolen in their childhood. I now
feel the way Aboriginal people were treated seems to be very unfair
and this makes me ask why. I have watched some videos and have read
some books about Aboriginal people and also have listened to some
Aboriginal people. As a journalist I have come to conclude this
shouldn't be ignored. I believe more people need to know about the
situation which Aboriginal people face. Therefore I have decided to
meet many Aboriginal people in Australia. I would like to talk about
the stolen generation(s). I understand that Aboriginal people who
experienced such painful childhoods find it very hard to speak out.
It is not my purpose to hear what they don't wish to talk about. What
I would like to do is to hear stories from people through interviews
which will confirm my knowledge obtained from various media. I am
looking for someone who is able to share their experience.

  TOPIC:
  Stolen Generation

  WHERE:
As I live in Wollongong I would prefer that those who respond are
people who live in this area so that it is easier for me to come and
  see them face to face.

  WHEN:
As it suits to each interviewee, I will meet you where you like.

  HOW:
  Interviews will be taped.

or alternatively, if you have information that you feel may be
beneficial
to my research but are unable to meet with me in person, feel free to
email
me. My email is as follows [EMAIL PROTECTED]

  thanks,

  Sunao
  Master of Journalism
