Scholar, Athlete, Warrior - Tribute to Dr. Kumiantjayi Perkins

The remarkable life of Dr Kumantjayi Perkins will be remembered on Message
Stick.

In the episode titled, "Scholar, Athlete, Warrior", Kumantjayi and some of
the people close to him remember his journey to become one of the greatest
Aboriginal leaders of all time.

It will focus on his achievements including the 1965 Freedom Ride, his
sporting life and his political career.

Footage of Kumantjayi¹s State Funeral at the Sydney Town Hall will also be
part of this special half hour tribute.

Scholar, Athlete, Warrior will bring home the emotion of a nation¹s loss ­
the loss of a leader who walked alongside his people.

Dr Kumantjayi Perkins, a much loved and admired husband, father,
grandfather, friend, colleague and longest surviving kidney transplant
recipient, passed away in October due to renal failure.
