Yes, Howard seems to be a completely amoral person----he appears unaffected
by his despicable, self-serving  actions----he has a touch of Dorian Gray
about him:  whereas  Ruddock is more the portrait of Dorian Gray.

Actually, all those doing Howard's dirtiest work  seem to decay before our
eyes----then they disappear into the sea of the damned..

Look at Reith, Bishop, Hanson , Beazley etc-----Ruddock is next ----then
Abbott ---and Crean of course.
