Depending on how your page is setup you may need to release changes .. although to me it sounds strange because typically if you have something in draft .. you still see your changes in there. Other people however would see the currently published version of the page still. So like on my system if I go in and manipulate a page and then reopen it and look at the changes I just made .. I see all those changes (or keywords missing as the case may be). Sounds like you may have something else going on in there contributing to the difficulty.
