Afer some breadcrumbs from this list, I'm now able to boot my 6.1beta box so that it
changes it's mac address, dhcpcd's, and loads some vpn software (all in rc3.d). What
I'm trying to narrow down is what is causing this action:
if I do a 'cardmgr -o', and then try to do an 'ifconfig hw', ifconfig reports back
that eth0 is busy. But if I do a 'dhcpcd -d -t 1', it'll timeout after 1 second, and
eth0 won't be busy any more, so I can do an 'ifconfig hw'. So the question is:
* what is dhcpcd doing that it makes ifconfig not busy?
* is there a 'right' way to do this, so that ifconfig isn't busy anymore, and not
using dhcpcd to do this?
Thanks!
