I have benchmarked them and gcc 2.96 won with a 5% lead.  It was on a
K6/2 so Things could be different on an Intel processor but for now
gcc 2.96 looks to be better than gcc 2.95.  I was using a newer
gcc 2.96 than the one in pinstripe.
