Agreed, this simplifies a lot. But this also implies that Glide is not
possible to use any longer since the 3dfx device drivers need the
2.2.x header files to build correctly, and 2.2.x kernel to work
correctly. As a consequence my Voodoo2 will not work any longer
running 2.2.x kernels and will not work at all running 2.4.x kernels
(except as a second head in a dual head configuration) :-(
It seems one has to buy a newer graphics card and _dump_ the old
ones.
