I'm trying to move from one hd to another (already copied everything
over), but when I boot up w/ redhat's disk using rescue, mount my new hd
at /mnt, and run /mnt/sbin/lilo to put lilo on the new drive, I get an
error saying it can't open /dev/hda. My drive is /dev/hda, and I even
mounted it at /mnt, so I know I can access it, but lilo won't work!

Here's the pertinet part of the new lilo file just in case:
boot=/dev/hda
map=/boot/map
install=/boot/boot.b
prompt
timeout=50
image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.0.34
        label=linux
        append="mem=80M"
        root=/dev/hda2
        vga=9
        read-only

Root (/) and /boot are different filesystems, if that might be it (but I
doubt it of course). I can't even do this when I booted up w/ my old hard
drive (ie /sbin/lilo -r /mnt/hdc), but it doesn't work either. I can run
lilo on my current hd (just did for the new kernel).

Any help, please! At this point I'm 99.8% sure I'm doing something really
stupid :-(
Chris
