Further to my request regarding info on the above card, I've learned it's an
S3 Virge/GX2 86C357, if that makes any difference...
I've tried forcing Xconfigurator/xf86config to use the SVGA server, but
still no-go.
The image appears to "wrap" around the screen (i.e. the screens are "joined"
in the middle)... My monitor is an Acer 79g 17" - horizontal 30 - 95k and
vertical 50 - 160Hz...
What hair I have left would appreciate any hints - I'm sick to death of
dual=booting...:-(
