This has been discussed many times before and but none of the answers have
helped me. I decided to start again from scratch and see what happens.

I am running a standard RH 5.1 server and a Win95 box. Networking between the
two machines is up and running and I can happily ping either box from the other
one. I am using the default /etc/smb.conf and have the two samba daemons up
and running. I have modified /etc/smb.conf to have my proper workgroup name.

The Samba Server can see and mount shares from the Win95 box. The Win95 box
can see the Samba Server in the browse list but cannot access any of its
resources. If I double-click on the Samba Server's icon, I am asked for a
password for IPC$. Nothing that I type is accepted.

So, where do I go from here. Since I've seen this posted several times before,
there must be a cookbook answer to this, no?
