I could only get it to stop saying that by entering the phone number as
one big long string with no extra characters, e.g. 140498768191. Also make
sure that your "station identifier" string is like that, because I found
that ANY extra characters in it prevents most fax machines from
communicating with your faxmodem :-(.

/dev/cua2 is a CALLOUT device, not an ANSWER device. Set your /dev/modem
to /dev/ttyS2. It'll still work with UUCP as long as you have UUCP set to
use /dev/modem, because unlike normal "uugetty" the "faxgetty" gives up
the line when UUCP creates its lock file to dial out.
