Hi:

I have just installed RHL5 as my first ever Linux system. You can get
technical with me, however, because I am very familiar with UNIX (being
a software designer within the HP-UX and Solaris environments).

I connected a terminal to the COM1 port, but could not get it to
respond.

    echo >/dev/ttys0 ...

yielded "input/output error". What do I need to do to get it to work
correctly?

P.S.: I eventually want to get to the point where GETTY is running on
COM1, and the terminal can be used to log in.

Thanks.
