i'm using redhat 5.0(still a newbie to this, no linux/unix exprience before)

i'm using a S# verige GX/2 card with xfree86 3.3.1

when in root, i type startx. the following message appears:-
------------------------------------------------------------------
xinit: no such file or directory (errno 2): no server "X" on path

Use the -- option, or make sure that /usr/X22R6 is in your path and that
"X" is a program or a link to the right type of server for your display.
Possible server names include:

_ X11TransSocketUNIX comment: can't connect: errno=111 giving up.
xinit: connection returned( errno11): unable to connect to X server
xinit: no such process(errno3) server error.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
also, i can't ran superprobe; can't find where the dir is located.

in my /usr directory, i have a X11R6 listing. however when i cd /usr/X11R6
bash returned the message saying theres no such file or directory.

in the end i ran XF86config & choose the Mono server. now there is a
listing called XF86_mono in my usr directory.

however, when installing, the probe said i had a s3 verige gx2 which is
correct & install the file xf86_s3v.

SO WHAT MUST I DO TO RUN X SUCESSFULLY & SOLVE MY DISPLAY SUCESSFULLY???

ARG! i'm going put of my mind.=> thinking of returning to win95

pls reply by personal email
