I've been thinking about this too.   I recently picked ten 486/25 that
are in an Evergreen Systems CAP server.  I got six 80MB drives with 
them, and each card has ethernet, vga, ide, serial, all on the mother
board.  All of these system boards are designed to run in the
same back plane.  Pretty interesting.

Does anyone know of Linux ever being run on these boards.  Their
bois is specialized.  So I'm not sure linux will run well on them.

I have a use for one or two as routers but was considering some
type of distributed process, or webservers, or what ever you might
come up with for the others.
