The actual lib your looking for is called glibc2 (libc6 is included
within this package).  I can't explain the number convention.

As far as installing the new lib verses the old you should first see
what programs you have and if they support running on libc6.  If not you
will need to create a new lib directory (maybe /usr/lib/linux-6.0 ??)
and add that to your /etc/ld.config file.  Rerun ldconfig and off you
go.  BTW you should put the library you want to be the main one to be
first in ld.config ( I choose libc6).  Hope this gets you started on the
right step - now If I could just compile my kernel.
