Hi and thanks for the note. Well I can't get xsane to work. Might be that I have the scanner on a USB connection. Or that my scanner (hp3570c) is not supported by xsane. Funny thing is, RH8 sees the scanner and of course the appropriate modules is loaded. I tried vueScan and it doesn't support my scanner so that is out. Although I did try and find some combination of loading and reloading the module. No luck. It would never go. So - I am left without any supporting software. But , as you mentioned - get the xsane plugin for Gimp and see if that works? I will have to check into that. I presume the plugin is available at the Gimp site?
