I would like to thank you all for the help that you have given me so far. I
would be lost without this list. I do however have some questions and
problems. First of all what is the deal with some programs made for 1024 X
768 mode? Is Xwindows designed for 21 inch monitors or something (I have a
14 inch ): I have used Xconfigurator to try and get the best modes
possible. In 800 X 600 mode the programs are too big to fit on the screen.
In 1024 X 768 mode everything is so small I cannot read anything. I have
got it so that I have the space of 1024 X 768 but instead of everything
being small I can scroll around the desktop with my mouse. It is the best I
can come up with. There must be another way right? Ok so how do you edit
the start menu? I am told to use Emacs but I haven't the foggiest idea of
what to do with it. Maybe I should get off my lazy ass and read some help
files. Which ones :). Ok 1 last thing. I know you are all upset with all
of these newbie questions, but everyone has to start somewhere. There are
some programs that seem to do nothing when I try to load them. They are
Karambolage, Carrom, Curling, CXHextris, Air-Hocky, Pool, Nine Ball,
Snooker, and XFish. Now I know that XFish use to work on my old Red Hat 4.1
(and the Xfree86 that came with it). If it helps any my monitor is a 14
inch multisync and I have a Matrox Mystique. Thanks
