I got this scanner yesterday. I have never worked with any usb devices under linux, I have never worked with sane. I downloaded the iscan rpm from Epson. It installed without problems. When i run scanimage it says: no scanner devices found. Do i need to configure sane? According to the instructions that come with the scanner, a florescent light need to come on when the lid is opened. No sutch light comes on. I want to know if the problem is with configuration only or a physical problem with the scanner. In /proc/bus/usb/devices it looks as if the usb controler knows about the scanner connected to it. tia Willem
