I've just picked up a Sharp Zaurus SL-5500. Staples was clearing
their floor models so I got it half-price, but full warranty. It will
happily sync under Linux. I'm still adjusting to it (from the Apple
Newton which still wins hands-down for handwriting recognition), so
I'm having trouble giving you a full endorsement. However, my
interest in astronomy lead me to get the Zaurus which will run
"Personal Sky Chart", a PDA version of XEphem, and I'm very happy with
that.
