There were some changes to it (under Red Hat 8.0, and 7.0/7.1). Do a diff on the mc file. One being trusted user of smmsp.
On 7.1, there is no setting of smmsp for a trusted user.
Correct 8.0. I didn't mean to imply that both versions had the same change, but that the trusted user was a change in one of those files (8.0).
/etc/aliases also has a minor change for those who use mailman.
I didn't even get a new /etc/aliases file on my system, and I do run mailman. What's the change?
# mailman aliases mailman: postmaster mailman-owner: mailman
vs.
mailman: root
