I don't know - but I think this isn't really relevant on a linux desktop, since you can configure it to have many workareas, like several desktops. I normally have 4 (the default) and start a set of applications on each that I normally use together, like email, browser on one, 4 xterms on another. I always start VMware in the desktop that is far right bottom corner, because it opens a windows that is too big (that's the way I set it up).It would be great to have a desktop icon like in Windows that will automatically minimize all apps to the taskbar so that you can gain quick access to your desktop. Is there such a feature in Red Hat linux?
Working this way I never minimize windows.
Also... how can i run Ximian Gnome in Red Hat 8?You can't - Ximian isn't built for gnome 2, which Redhat 8 uses.
