Hi there, this is something that has been bothering for some time, and i'd
like to kindly ask if anyone can point me to some reading corner o just tell
me how to achieve it.

I'm using RedHat 8.0, have and nforce chipset. Whenever I logging (through
gdm) as user A, this user somehow locks the sound device to all other users,
how can I unlock it so that when user for example stops using xmms user B
logged in somewhere can play with his sounds?
Also a bugging thing is when i do a "startx -- :1" the screen doesn't display
corrrectly until I switch to any vt and back again :(

Ok that's it for my first poster, haven't written in english for some time now
so if something sounds kind of weird don't bother to ask what i meant with
what I said!!

TIA
