Well... this is a "RedHat" mailing list... hehe I'm using a RedHat 7.2 box with a recompiled kernel in a Pentium 233MMX and it was working well. But i had to recompile the kernel with many customized options for best performance with this machine.
If you don't want to recompile the kernel, try to use a previous version of the RedHat, like the 6.2 (kernel 2.2).
