By default dig doesn't refer to the search list in /etc/resolv.conf. To get it to resolve short names use: dig +search hostname -- Ian -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
