I'm using RedHat AS-2.1 on an IBM HS20 server. The documentation of hotplug say I need to install an init.d service to deal with "coldplugs". However, when I try the service, it complains that the USB_DEVFS is not available.
Indeed I see that there is no /proc/bus/usb at all, however the kernel I use is the RedHat provided kernel (2.4.9-e24-enterprise) The config file of that kernel has USB_DEVFS turned on as a builtin.
