I installed Squirrel Mail a while back (I think from RPM). For it to work, Sendmail needs to be operating as in IMAP4 not POP3 mode.
Sorry, not correct. Sendmail is only and specifically for sending and receiving mail using SMTP; it does not deliver mail to users.
What you meant is that for Squirrelmail to work, there must be an IMAP server installed on the box.
