If you fixed /etc/hosts, and /etc/resolv.conf then I've no clue! It's because of problems like this configuration headaches with sendmail that I decided to switch to qmail! When a friend told me to switch to qmail, I was very hesitant about it since *everybody* used sendmail but when I switched I was really happy because it was easy to figure out stuff and it gives you meaningful error messages which you can easily trace back! > > I do reckon that QMail or similar is in my future...a few mates of mine > that run local ISP's swear by it...(aside from swearing about other > things) TIP: To speed up things and install qmail rapidly on RH9: rpm --erase --nodeps sendmail #getting rid of sendmail! Then go to http://www.itworks.com.hk/services/download.htm and download the 2 rpms. Install: rpm -ivh qmail-xxxrh9.rpm rpm -ivh qmail-initscripts-xxxrh9.rpm then reboot and voila! Your qmail is ready to rock! regards, Didier --- PhD student Singapore Synchrotron Light Source (SSLS) 5 Research Link, Singapore 117603 Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] or [EMAIL PROTECTED] Website: http://ssls.nus.edu.sg -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
